Wayfinder
An interactive audio trail for Hartlepool Waterside Festival

Take your whole family on a voyage of discovery finding stories and voices hidden around Hartlepool’s historic dock. This audio adventure ends in its own voyage, a boat ride across the harbor.
Come and collect a large ships compass and follow its needle, taking turns to navigate through the dock. On your way you will discover the voices stories and thoughts of those living in Hartlepool played through the compass itself. These have been collected from a cross-section of its residents by students from the Northern School of Art, who have also created hats and costumes for the event.
Wayfinder is a project by Output Arts that celebrates local stories and voices, recorded by young people drawn to the area to study. It reflects the thoughts and experiences of the community at large, its older members as well as newcomers and settlers.
Wayfinder is a Great Place Tees Valley project supported by Hartlepool Council. The video above was filmed and edited by Northern School of Arts students Hannah Flear and Chloe Grocott.
You can read some press coverage of the project and event in the Hartlepool Mail.
